I likes this wood-block rug from west Elm. It adds a rustic feel as it is a rug meets flooring in pure ebony wood. It is Reversible and recommended for both indoor/outdoor use. Made of natural dark wood. West Elm recommends a use of rug pad- Durable 100% poly with PVC coating adds loft and keeps rug in place.

Oh, I like that! Very different. Just one thing I wonder about - I can see why they recommend a rug pad underneath it, so as not to scratch the main floor, but wouldn't that sort of ruin the effect? A bit like going out in a gorgeous dress, with your slip showing!March 16, 2008 at 5:19 PMyeah, I thought the same. May be West Elm does not want to take responsibilities for accidents that can happen by the rug slipping and hence the recommendation to use the rug pad. But if you put something heavy on it like the bed, probably you don't have to worry about the rug slipping but still it can scratch the floor below.....
